The long-awaited War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR is all set to swoon the screens on August 14, 2025. The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is a massive addition to Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) Spy Universe, which already has some big box office hits such as Pathaan, War, and the Tiger series.
War 2 Expands YRF’s Spy Universe
YRF recently announced the release date of War 2 on social media, reacting to an unofficial promotional post with the words, “There will be chaos in theatres on August 14, 2025, globally.” The movie takes a cue from earlier spy universe movies and is likely to bring the franchise to new heights.
The spy franchise extension does not stop there. YRF has a number of pending projects in their kitty like Pathaan 2, Tiger vs Pathaan featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, and Alpha, a lady-centered spy film for Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.
Jr NTR’s Bollywood Debut
War 2 is Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut, and he is the leading man of RRR. His fans were thrilled when leaked footage and images of the actor filming for the movie appeared online in the previous year. Jr NTR spoke of his experience and complimented director Ayan Mukerji by saying that the director motivated him to infuse his own style into the role, which turned out to be a dynamic and fulfilling experience.
Star-Studded Cast
Joining Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, War 2 will also see Kiara Advani in the lead role, according to reports. Shraddha Kapoor has also been rumored to make an appearance in a special dance number.
With some high-octane action and a star cast, War 2 is shaping up to be a big cinematic event on Independence Day 2025.
