Varun Dhawan’s Baby John: did Salman Khan’s Cameo Save the Day?

All Eyes on Salman, But Is Varun Dhawan’s Baby John the Real Star of the Show? : Movie Review, Analysis and More!

Varun Dhawan’s Baby John faces mixed reviews despite his performance

Varun Dhawan’s long awaited movie Baby John hits the theater on Christmas 2024. Baby john is an official remake or adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay’s Theri released in 2016. Featuring prominent south Indian actress Keerty Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi, directed by kalees and produced by Atlee, the film had quite an overwhelming response pre launch. With everyone humming the Diljit song, “Nain Matakka” and the tickets for the movie were all sold out. Even with all the craze the film lags behind in the first day earnings from the movies Mufasa: The Lion King and Pushpa 2: The Rule launched this year.

The film opens with an earning of 11.25 crores in the first day honing to Varun Dhawan’s spectacular performance. He makes his presence feel both as a doting father who runs a bakery and also as a police officer. This film was considered as a golden opportunity for Varun after a history for commercial fluctuation in his last movies and streaming projects. Varun definitely doesn’t disappoint us with his work but it still fails to rule the audiences hearts as Vijay did in 2016. Back in 2016, the movie was directed by Atlee and was a total success but audience says the parts of the movie don’t stand up to expectations. With a budget this huge the audience did expect some change or maybe more depth to the story but even the camera angles where same. Some have even said it’s better to watch Theri on TV rather taking time to watch the same movie. With all its drawbacks the movie still got an IMDB rating of 7.2, we wonder how?

Salman Khan’s Cameo saves the day?

Although we believe Varun did try his best to justify his role as John we just can’t forget the mark that Thalapathy made. But guess what everyone is talking about? Bhaijaan’s entry saved the day it feels. Salman fans ram the theaters and huge hootings are heard with the entry of our favorite Salman khan. Salman arrives as agent bhaijaan and saves the day. Although the movie should have been all about the praises of the leading star Varun, we feel our Bhaijaan may have just stolen the thunder or given the movie a boost?

Everyone’s talking about Salman and Atlee’s cameo in the movie and Salman’s entry was definitely a must watch. With all of that’s there in the movie we still consider it as a one time watch if you really want to watch a movie.

To all the Thalapathy fans we suggest it’s better you stay at home and rewatch Theri. In conclusion, the movie might not do well in box office adding another failure to Varun’s career or could be an average hit. What do you think?
