Kriti Sanon has officially wrapped up the Sicilian schedule of Cocktail 2, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses and heartfelt captions with fans that capture both exhaustion and exhilaration. In her Instagram post, she wrote: “Ciao my Bellas. And just like that we’ve wrapped #TheSicilianChapter of #Cocktail2. Sunshine, rain and ending with a beautiful Rainbow. See you guys super soon.
This spiritual sequel to the 2012 Hindi romantic comedy-drama film Cocktail (starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty) promises to expand on the same themes of love, friendship, conflict, and heartbreak as its predecessor, but this time in more exotic locations. This instalment is also helmed by director Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, like the original film. But this time, Imtiaz Ali is not creatively associated with the film. This time, the script has been written by another famous filmmaker, Luv Ranjan.
While shooting abroad, Kriti was often pictured enjoying the local weather and landscapes, bonding with the director Homi Adajania and the rest of the cast. Her updates from Sicily reflect a mix of professional satisfaction and personal joy, letting fans see the effort, the fun, and the spirit that goes on behind the camera during the course of making a film.
Outside of Cocktail 2, Kriti is also gearing up for Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L. Rai and co-starring Dhanush opposite her for the first time. The film is set for a November 28, 2025, release, and it has also been described as a spiritual successor to Rai and Dhanush’s first collaboration, Raanjhanaa (2013), in terms of the emotional pulse and the intensity of romance between the lead pair, though not a direct sequel.
Along with Kriti, Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna will also be seen in the lead roles of Cocktail 2. The film is expected to hit the screens in the second half of 2026.
