On the 395th birthday of the great Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the producers of his soon-to-be-released biopic released a breathtaking new poster that embodies the spirit of the great leader. The elaborate movie, titled The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to be a massive tribute to the great ruler who altered the face of Indian history.
Directed by Sandeep Singh and featuring Rishab Shetty in the lead role, the film will release on January 21, 2027. The released poster features Shivaji Maharaj standing before Goddess Bhavani, exuding a feeling of spiritual energy and historical magnitude. This image is the starting point for what promises to be an over-the-top depiction of the Maratha king’s path of courage, honor, and commitment to Swarajya (self-governance).
Director Sandeep Singh expressed his excitement, saying, “On this momentous occasion, we are pleased to unveil the first look of our film. It is a proud privilege to interpret Shivaji Maharaj’s marvelous saga on the screen. His legacy is not history—it’s a source of inspiration for all generations to come.”
Rishab Shetty, who was assigned the challenging role of playing the warrior king, spoke of his great respect and enthusiasm for the project. “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not merely a warrior but the soul of Swarajya. To be his spirit is a divine calling and a journey that humbles me,” he said.
The movie has a stellar lineup of creators behind it, including lyricist Prasoon Joshi, cinematographer Ravi Varman, and sound designer Resul Pookutty. The music, by Pritam, is likely to be the icing on the cake for the film experience. With the script being written by Siddharth-Garima, the film is being made as an epic pan-India period drama.
The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not a movie but a sincere tribute to one of India’s finest heroes. It strives to revive the sense of courage and patriotism so that the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj can still inspire millions of people worldwide.
