Rajinikanth’s big-budget film Lingaa, which cost approximately ₹100 crore, failed at the box office during its release in 2014. Just to give an idea of the distributor’s losses, they were around ₹54 crore. The actor came forward and offered ₹10 crore to the distributors as a way to relieve the situation.
