After the photo that included them and the YouTube sensation MrBeast went viral, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan came together for a panel discussion titled East to West: The Global Rise of Bollywood at the Joy Forum in Saudi Arabia. One of the aspects of the conversation was the question that fans have been asking for a long time: Will the three Khans ever be cast opposite one another?
Shah Rukh stated, “I must confess, if the three of us are in one project, it would be a dream come true in itself. I would only hope it is not a nightmare! Insha Allah, whenever we get a chance and a story, we are always there, sitting and talking about it.” He heaped praise on the other two, that they are “aspirational and inspirational,” admitting their experiences, the victory and defeat, and the enormous artistic works each has made over the years.
Humour, Eccentricities, and Respect for the Script
Salman Khan contributed his distinct humour to the dialogue and playfully reminded Shah Rukh to say that “nobody is going to be able to afford the three of us in a movie together.” To which Shah Rukh replied, “I just want to say that the word affordability does not refer to money purely, it is about the type of timing we have for our work… Can anybody put up with those eccentricities?” The witty trio drew attention to the plus points of working together, sharing fun, and goodness.
Salman even said to the effect that only the script would be the real winner when the three Khans worked together. Aamir Khan agreed and further expressed, “We all emotionally are three willing to do a film together, and it is just a matter of correctly finding the script.”
Current Projects of the Khans
As of now, each of them is caught up in the whirlwind of major projects. Aamir Khan is preparing for a Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, while Salman Khan is currently filming Battle of Galwan with Apoorva Lakhia, and Shah Rukh Khan is planning a major release with Siddharth Anand’s King.
