After the demise of the former Tata Group and Tata Sons chairman, Ratan Tata one question is making the rounds on the internet: ‘What now for Shantanu Naidu?’ Shantanu Naidu was the General Manager at Tata Sons under the leadership of esteemed Ratan Naval Tata and shared Ratan Tata’s love for innovation and animals.
Naidu became the talk of the Internet when the young man accompanied Ratan Tata at different public events. Naidu’s close bond with Ratan Tata made him the envy of several fans of Ratan Tata. However, the question ‘What happened to Naidu after the passing of the former Tata chairperson?’ has now been finally put to rest.
Shantanu Naidu has been appointed as General Manager at Tata Motors. Shantanu Naidu announced this news on his social media page. “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as General Manager, Head – Strategic Initiatives at Tata Motors! I remember when my father used to walk home from the Tata Motors plant in his white shirt and navy pants, and I would wait for him in the window. It comes full circle now.”
Naidu has previously held the position of Ratan Tata’s personal assistant and General Manager at Tata Sons Limited. In this position, he worked on the strategic planning of corporate initiatives at Tata Sons. He also founded Motopaws which creates visual collars for dogs to protect them from getting run over on the roads due to low visibility.
This was the initiative that highlighted Naidu in front of Ratan Tata leading to his several adventures with the beloved philanthropist. Prior to this position at Tata Motors, Naidu also worked at Tata Trust, Tata Technologies, and Tata Elxsi. His expertise in product innovation, marketing, data analytics, and business development made him popular not only among his peers but also among leaders in the Tata Group.
Hence, Shantanu Naidu’s appointment as General Manager for Strategic Initiatives at Tata Motors comes as a piece of positive news for his well-wishers.
