The Dhoom series adds another Bollywood star to its cast, and this time it is Ranbir Kapoor. One of the biggest stars in Bollywood with several blockbuster hits in his acting career. Animal, Barfi, Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Sanju, Brahmastra, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
Several other critically acclaimed films like Wake Up Sid, Rocket Singh, and Tamasha also graced his acting career. This puts the actor at par with Amir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan who starred in Dhoom prequels. However, only time will tell if he fits the role after the film releases in 2026.
Dhoom 4 is set to go into the production phase next year in April after Ranbir Kapoor is done filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Presently, he has the biggest film lineup with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, Ramayan 1 & 2 by Nitesh Tiwari, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park, and now Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Dhoom 4.
Talk is on with producers opting for a South Superstar for the antagonist role to take on Ranbir Kapoor’s character but nothing is confirmed yet. A source shared with a media outlet, “Kapoor will need to have a different look for Dhoom 4 and before starting that, he will wrap up his two existing projects. Dhoom 4 is expected to go on floors next April. The production team is currently looking to lock two female leads and an antagonist for the film. Key contenders to play the antagonist in the film are being considered from the South.”
Questions remain if Kapoor is set to play the cop role or the villain in the next Dhoom movie.
