The legendary duo of Radcliffe and Felton, who were co-stars, met in New York City on December 1, 2025, to watch the film version of Merrily We Roll Along, a musical revival of 2023 in which Radcliffe plays the lead. The occasion was full of emotions and memories as the two actors embraced and took a picture together. As per the reports, this was their first joint public picture after a gap of over ten years, with the last being from the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in July 2011.

From on-screen enemies to off-screen brothers

Radcliffe and Felton first got acquainted during the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the movie that brought the magical world to the viewers. The role of Harry was played by Radcliffe, whereas Felton acted as Draco Malfoy, Harry’s opponent. Eventually, the actors became friends, and the rivalry of the characters turned into a friendly relationship: at first, the characters got along very badly, but on the contrary, the actors formed a strong friendship. Felton has referred to Radcliffe as “his brother,” and the two have a very powerful respect and a lighthearted connection between them.

According to reports, Felton has talked about how Radcliffe has influenced him to go into theater. He mentioned during the Good Morning America show in November, “Over ten years ago I watched him in his first Broadway performance, and now he is a Tony winner. He is among the few who make Broadway so special to me.”

Broadway dreams and renewed respect

The reunion was a delightful coincidence, as both actors are actively participating in theater at the moment. The 38-year-old Felton is, in fact, currently playing Draco Malfoy on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The production, which is a further exploration of the wizarding universe on stage, has created a great buzz among fans, especially with Felton taking on his legendary character from the movies again, and the show recently broke box office records, earning over $3 million during Thanksgiving week alone.

On the other hand, Radcliffe is slowly but surely getting recognized in the musical-theater world. He had a very supportive presence at the screening, and, in fact, it was somewhat of a “celebration” of Felton’s Broadway journey, one that, according to Felton, was partly inspired by Radcliffe. Felton had opened up recently, saying that when he first saw Radcliffe on stage years ago, he would have wished to explore there too.

Why this reunion matters

The reunion of Radcliffe and Felton together after more than 14 years since their last public photograph is not just nostalgia for fans around the globe. It is, rather, a celebration of friendship, maturity, and the never-fading charm of a franchise that influenced many generations. The reunion opens up a new storyline about two actors who used to play enemies on screen and are now showing their admiration and support for each other in real life, and fans still remember the iconic duo even after so many years and so many roles.
