Paresh Rawal Opens Up About Turning Down Drishyam 3 – “Script Was Very Good, But I Said No”

Pares Rawal, one of the most acknowledged actors in the industry, revealed his reasons for declining the role in Drishyam 3. He spoke to the press and acknowledged that although he was impressed with the storyline and the script, but eventually felt it was not a suitable role for him to accept, saying that “Maza nahin aaya.” Rawal’s decision in this respect is even more interesting due to his being a versatile actor who has earlier played fantastic roles in both commercial and independent cinema.

Why He Said No

The actor mentioned that time, creativity, and personal reasoning were the three major factors influencing his decision. “The script is very good. Ajay Devgn is a fantastic actor, and it would have been nice to work with him, but sometimes you have to trust your instincts and say no,” said Rawal. He pointed out that rejecting a film does not imply disapproval of the project, but it is rather a personal decision based on that particular role and schedule compatibility.

Drishyam 3: What’s Next

Drishyam 3, the most awaited sequel of the successful series, which is a remake of the original Malayalam film trilogy, goes on with the thrilling journey of the family who is trapped in a web of crime and lies. The film has made the fans of the ‘Drishyam series’ very curious as Ajay Devgn is again going to act in his role as the father, Vijay Salgaonkar. Even though the absence of Paresh Rawal is not likely to curtail the excitement, the production team is still working on the selection of the actors and the creation of the film to deliver a thrilling and captivating ride to its viewers.

Paresh Rawal’s decision to skip Drishyam 3 does not diminish his list of future films; in fact, it has become more attractive. He will make an appearance in the amusing and crazy Welcome to the Jungle, the third part of the famous ‘Welcome franchise’, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Sanjay Dutt. Besides, he will be seen in the third edition of Hera Pheri, performing again the unforgettable character Babu Bhaiya, the most adored and funny person in Bollywood history. Furthermore, he is also once again collaborating with his longtime friend and filmmaker, Priyadarshan, in his horror comedy movie, Bhooth Bangla. Another film in which he will be seen sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar.
