Even Shaktimaam cannot escape from getting trolled online in the 21st century. In a new development on Indian superhero characters, Shaktimaan is all set to make a return to the small screen. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna confirmed this news on his social media account with a video.
The video caption reads, “It`s Time for Him to Return.” Our First Indian SUPER TEACHER- SUPER HERO. YES! As darkness and evil prevail over children of today… It`s time for him to return. He returns with a message. He returns with a teaching. For today`s generation. Welcome Him. With both hands !!!!!”
In the late 90s, there was only one Indian superhero who dominated the small screen and Indian hearts, Shaktimaan. A beloved superhero drama that millennials couldn’t get enough of in their childhood. So, on the news of Shaktimaan’s return, you would expect the fans to feel nostalgic and excited about the series.
However, the reaction to the news was not what one would expect. Fans of Shaktimaan turned to trolls on the internet to stop the degradation of their favorite childhood drama. Mukesh Khanna’s video posts were filled with savage comments. One fan wrote, “Don`t ruin Shaktiman; please, don`t do it.”
While another fan shares that some iconic characters should be left in their original form and not experimented on. While Khanna shares his take on the return of his iconic character on television, “I did well in Shatimaan because it came from within me… Acting is all about confidence. I forget about the camera when I am shooting…I am even happier than the others about becoming Shaktimaan again.”
He believes today’s generation is running blindly behind the wrong things and needs guidance to reach the right path. However, fans feel he is too old to play the character with genuine conviction.
