Taare Zameen Par is a hit movie of 2007 that explored the life of a dyslexic child, Ishaan Awasthi, played by Darsheel Safary. The movie stars Amir Khan, Tisca Chopra, and Tanay Chheda and, for the first time in Indian film history, explores an untouched topic of learning disability. The movie garnered quite a bit of attention for its approach to such a sensitive topic as dyslexia and created a massive fan base.

So, when mother Maya (Tisca Chopra) and son Ishaan (Darsheel Safar) reunited after 17 years, fans demanded part 2 of the film. The reel of the loved mother-son duo went viral online, and netizens expressed their wish to see them on screen once again. The reel is a hilarious take on the mother-son duo from Taare Zameen Par after 17 years. 

The video gives a peek at Ishaan and Maya’s life after 17 years, where his mother, aka Tisca, asks him to pick one of the two cards. One card has Pizza-Pasta-Ice cream written on it, while the other has Daal-Chawal-Sabji (rice-pulses-vegetables). 

Ishaan, AKA. Darsheel, is seen picking the former card but given Daal-Chawal-Sabji to be eaten. While his mother (Tisca) says, “Still can’t read,” a nod to his son’s dyslexia. The video is captioned, “17 years of #TaareZameenPar @dsafary waiting for a clap back. Disclaimer: We understand dyslexia to be a serious issue that affects not just the person with dyslexia but families too… This reel is for humor only.”

Soon the video got attention from netizens, and fans started getting nostalgic about the movie. A fan wrote, “There hasn’t been a single time when I’ve watched the movie and haven’t cried. The movie that changed our brain chemistry when it wasn’t even a thing! Thank you, guys.”

Another fan writes, “So happy to see this reunion.” However, most comments wished for a part 2 of the movie exploring the bond and such critical themes like dyslexia that require more attention.
