Lucknow Slum Kids Recreate Sabyasachi’s Bridal Campaign

Money cannot hold you back from following your dreams; this is what these underprivileged children from a Lucknow-based NGO are proving to the world. These kids belong to an NGO called Innovative for Change, which manages 400 slum children and provides them with free education.

Taking a creative approach for its students who dream of becoming designers and filmmakers, Innovovative for Change collected donated clothes with the help of the children to showcase their creativity to the world.

As the NGO explains, “We are a Lucknow-based NGO working with over 400 slum children, providing them with free education. These dresses were designed by our students, all of whom come from extremely poor backgrounds. They used donated clothes from local and neighborhood charities to create their designs after watching a Sabyasachi bridal video.”

These little creators’ creation was shared through a video online by the NGO, which made buzz online. Netizens can’t seem to keep calm after knowing that these designs were made by underprivileged kids and the video was also shot by a 15-year-old aspiring filmmaker from the NGO.

The creativity of these children was also noticed by the celebrated celebrity designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who shared heart emojis in the comments. He shared the video on his social media profile, showing appreciation for these kids’ creativity.

A netizen comments, “All I see is that making these teens models gives them dreams. This exposure is innovative. And the clothes look amazing on anyone who wears them. So it’s great.”

While another writes, “Seeing such a beautiful portrayal of Indian bridal beauty reminds me that elegance and grace aren’t defined by a Sabyasachi or Manish Malhotra label. It’s about the authenticity and spirit that each person brings. Hats off to everyone involved for showcasing the true essence of Indian beauty.”
