From a Mechanical Engineer to a Mythic Lead
Bhoomi Shetty’s selection is the biggest turning point in an actor’s career who is considered a superhero. She was a mechanical engineering student in Bengaluru and took the route of television and regional films to get into cinema. Director Varma wanted a ‘brand new face’ for Mahakali who would be able to portray the character with the raw power, vulnerability, and authenticity of the goddess.
