Nature has the power to destroy your life within seconds. Nature doesn’t discriminate when it unleashes its fury against living beings. Whether you are a working-class individual or a billionaire celebrity nothing survives in front of nature’s attack. One such result of nature’s fury is wildfires and the recent Los Angeles wildfire incident shows the brutality of nature.
In this wildfire more than 130,000 L.A. dwellers have been displaced, more than 4000 structures destroyed and at least five lives have been lost. From celebrities to commoners, several people have lost their homes to the L.A. wildfires that are still raging. After repeated battles to douse the fire by firefighters, the wildfire seems to rage on across California’s Los Angeles Country.
Palisades, Kenneth, Eaton, Hurst, and Lidia are burning for three days. These areas are well known for the luxury homes of Hollywood celebrities. Some of the stars who lost their homes to the wildfire are Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, and Cary Elwes.
Paris Hilton, the billionaire socialite and businesswoman, has lost her Malibu home to the raging fires where her son, Phoenix, took his first steps. On social media, she shared, “To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
Mandy Moore barely escaped the L.A. wildfire, but the same could not be said about her home and her beloved neighborhood that her children loved. The American singer-turned-actress shared clips of her burning home and neighborhood with skies filled with smoke. The caption of the video clips says, “This is Altadena. Levelled.” She said, “My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much.”
Billy Crystal, along with his wife, Janice, lost their family home of 45 years. Billy shared his grief on the loss: “We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.” Similarly, the Princess Bride’s star, Cary Elwes, shared the loss of his family home in Palisades: “Sadly, we did lose our home, but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire.”
Home is something people dream of and create with utmost dedication and hard work. So, the loss of any home impacts individuals to a certain degree.
