L’Oréal The New Owner Of the Korean Skincare Brand Dr.G

If you use cosmetics and skin care products, chances are you own a L’Oreal product in your household. L’Oréal is the most beloved drugstore brand across the world. In India, L’Oreal has a separate fanbase, with L’Oreal India Pvt. Ltd. reporting a profit of Rs 488.35 crore for the financial year 2022-23. 

Now, L’Oreal brings you Korean skincare brand Dr. G to India after acquiring the leading brand from Migros’, a Swiss retail conglomerate. Dr. G is now a part of L’Oreal Groupe’s Consumer Products Division (CPD). The announcement came on 23rd December after signing the agreement with Migros.

Dr. G is one of the leading skincare brands in South Korea with a growing presence in the Pan-Asian region. So, the French beauty brand wants to bring the Korean skincare brand under its wings as it sees potential for global growth. 

Korean skincare brands are highly formulated products made using premium ingredients, thus making them a cult favorite. Dr. G’s products, like R.E.D Blemish Clear Soothing Cream, are some of their best-selling products. As an ingredient-led skincare brand, Dr. G’s products continuously ranked at the top of the dermo-cosmetic skincare brands list in South Korea.

Welcoming the Korean to the L’Oréal family, the Global President of L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division, Alexis Perakisvalat, says, “We are delighted to welcome Dr. G into the L’Oréal Group family.
