Lakme Sunscreen’s Reformulation Has More Cons Than Pros

A tropical country like India enjoys year-long sunlight; however, there is a downside to such tropical countries. Heat, dehydration, and harmful UV-related skin problems that degrade the quality of life. So, medical experts created sunscreen to protect our skin from harmful solar rays UVA and UVB.

However, Indian brands like Lakme are failing in their sunscreen formulation when it comes to protection and comfort. Wearing sunscreen in a humid and tropical country like India requires precise research and innovation that suits Indian weather.

So what makes Lakme sunscreen formulation so terrible? Let’s go deep into this topic.

Consumer Feedback on Lakme’s Latest Sunscreen Formulation

Netizens are taking to the internet to express their disappointment for the brand. A user commented on the Lakme sunscreen formulation, “It smells so bad and is so sticky.” Another user says, “Lakme is not even slightly matte, feels quite heavy and is sticky. False advertising, would not recommend. And you need at least SPF 30 anyway.”

To add to the mix a netizen shared, “I bought it, didn’t like the white cast it left, so I switched to Fixderma; it’s good enough ig, but why only SPF 24?” Clearly, from all these comments you can see the aspects that make the sunscreen so hated among skincare enthusiasts. From texture to SPF, all the factors that make or break a sunscreen brand are affected under Lakme and need major change.

Lakme Still Couldn’t Perfect Its Reformulated Sun Expert

Lakme recently launched its Lakme 9to5 Sun Expert that’s promising more hydration with 1% Niacinamide and gel formulation. While that does improve the quality of the formulation when it comes to absorption and moisturizing, however, Lakme still fails to improve the texture.

With promises such as a more lighter and advanced formulation and 50% SPF formulation, users are still facing problems with the product. Take for example, when you apply this sunscreen it starts to peel off after some time if you accidentally rub your face. The waxy texture of the sunscreen makes it hard for oily skin individuals to keep on this sunscreen.

Additionally, the reformulated Lakme Sun Expert seems to have an indefinite ingredient list that includes some of the harmful ingredients. While Lakme promises its sunscreens are well-formulated using the best ingredients the claim remains false as of now. So, did you try any of the Lakme Sunscreen products?
