During the grand finale of Lakmé Fashion Week × FDCI, a series of splendid events led up to the main attraction, a debut of Aneet Padda, the new showstopper for fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani. This was a magical mixing of young vitality, fashion aspiration, and eternal elegance all at once.
A Momentous Debut
For a lot of the people in the crowd, the night was Aneet Padda’s—who just came back from the success of her movie Saiyaara—she very boldly finished the event wearing one of the artist’s newest collection pieces, “Bejeweled.” It was her first ramp walk and the whole world was watching her calmness and elegance. Her costume, a modern take on a classic Indian saree, was an expert fusion of heritage and contemporary haute couture. The gown was covered in gold metallic sequins and it had the finest Swarovski crystals that twinkled under the runway lights.
The designer played on the allure of Indian draping with the dressed-up version of the Indian silk. It featured a corseted bodice, a pleated pallu flowing perfectly with the silhouette that combined structured movement with soft fluidity. Tahiliani characterized the collection as “luminous, layered, and wearable,” with each individual look intended to summon a kind of inner light turning it into an external ornament.

Styling, Beauty & Accessories
Aneet’s styling was an addition to the dramatic ensemble with a combination of pearls, a statement ring and elegant bracelets that gave a touch of soft luxury to the metallic tones. Her hair was centre-parted and done in soft waves while her make-up was gold and pink with a touch of subtlety yet radiance. The whole concept of modern goddess—rooted in Indian tradition yet alluring glamour. Her gentle walk, confident attitude, and expressive personality added to the vision.
Designer Vision & Cultural Resonance
It was for Tahiliani “Bejewelled” that he considered—more than just an ornate fashion—it was a philosophy. To him the glow of jewels were to be translated into fabric and form, and he treated them as metaphors for inner brilliance and cultural memory. His proposition was that adornment is not just externally placed jewellery but is the coming together of light, craft and identity on the body.
He was expressing through design the spirituality of India—bindis, bangles, small talismans ,the reinterpretation of them in contemporary silhouettes. He emphasized that in most isolated parts of India small forms of embellishment are used for identity purposes and that such gestures should not be swallowed by modernity.
Reactions & Reflections
The Internet reacted promptly. The fans celebrated Aneet’s success on the ramp, tagging her as a “natural beauty” and even praising her for being so honest at such a crucial point. “Can’t believe a 22-year-old outsider is owning the grand finale … So proud,” commented one.Aneet considered it a milestone walking on the ramp with such a spotlight, a milestone that connected her early movie identity and gave a stage in fashion. It is understood that her debut will likely open several doors as new faces, new interpretations, and fresh energy are always on demand.
