Khushi Kapoor Wants to Explore Darker Roles After Nadaaniyan

After Nadaaniyan, Khushi Kapoor is eager to explore darker roles in Bollywood, including horror-thrillers. Known for her lighthearted performances in The Archies and Loveyapa, she now wants to take on intense, emotional roles. Following in Janhvi Kapoor’s footsteps, could a psychological thriller or horror film be next in her career?

"Khushi Kapoor expresses interest in horror-thriller films after Nadaaniyan, following her lighthearted roles in The Archies and Loveyapa."

After winning hearts with her acting in The Archies and Loveyapa, Khushi Kapoor is set to enter a new genre. Post her latest release, Nadaaniyan, where she was seen alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan, the young actress has shown enthusiasm in venturing into horror-thrillers.

In a recent interview with Grazia India, Khushi shared her excitement about trying something different. “I’ve always been curious to see what the process of a thriller-horror movie would look like; maybe not completely horror, but something a bit darker than the movies I’ve done so far,” she said. The actress added that she enjoys dramatic and emotional scenes, making a heavy, suspenseful film an exciting challenge for her.

Khushi’s filmography so far has included light and breezy roles. In her OTT debut film, The Archies (2023), she portrayed Betty Cooper, the sweet and sensitive girl. In her theatrical film debut Loveyapa, she played a colorful and peppy role as Baani. Elsewhere, in Nadaaniyan, she depicted the pampered Pia Jaisingh, who employs Ibrahim Ali Khan’s character to be her beau. All her roles have displayed various layers of her personality, but none have ventured into the dark, intense space of horror or thriller genres yet.

Interestingly, her sister Janhvi Kapoor has already experimented with horror-thrillers. She appeared in Zoya Akhtar’s Ghost Stories (2020) and then impressed everyone with her performance in the horror-comedy Roohi (2021). With her increasing experience, Khushi can definitely draw inspiration from her sister’s experience venturing into darker storytelling.

Fans would love to see Khushi play a darker and more dramatic role. Whether it is a psychological thriller or a horror movie, a darker subject matter would definitely give her career a new edge. Would you like to see Khushi in a horror thriller soon? Let us know
