The court has seen the five arrested persons in the Zubeen Garg death case after their police custody was completed. None of the accused was represented by any attorney, and no bail requests were made during the court session, officials said.
SIT Investigation in Progress
Assam CID’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta, is the body taking the foremost position in the investigation of Garg’s death. Gupta verified that the first arrest count was seven and that the custody period for the remaining two suspects is nearing the end. Witness statements are also being recorded by the SIT; so far, ten people have been called to the CID office.
International Investigation on the Horizon
In the course of the ongoing investigation, the SIT has been informed about the officers’ travel to Singapore for further inquiries. According to the officials, this is a part of the standard investigative procedure, which indicates that there might be international dimensions in the case; thus, they will dig deep into the investigation right from Singapore.
