A sad day for the film industry - the young actor Sachin Chandwade from Jamtara 2 has reportedly taken his life at the age of 25.

Jamtara 2 Actor Sachin Chandwade Commits Suicide

As per the sources, Chandwade, who had a role in Netflix India’s Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega (Season 2), was found dead at his residence on October 23 at the age of 25. The police in Goregaon have started investigating the situation and have filed a report of Accidental Death (ADR). Meanwhile, the corpse has been sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death.

The police said that when Chandwade had not answered his phone since Thursday evening, the neighbours became concerned and called the police. The police broke into his apartment and found him hanging there. A suicide note has not been found yet, but the initial investigations indicate mental stress may have been the cause.

Diminished Sitarist Spangled with Horror

Chandwade, an attractive face in the Indian OTT world, had become famous for giving life to hard-hitting and realistic characters in Jamtara 2, which was a story of cybercrime and rural scams in India. His friends and colleagues in industry remember him as “a man full of poise, aspiration, and above all very much devoted to acting.”

Before transitioning into the digital entertainment domain, Sachin had already made his mark through Marathi theatre and numerous short films. His fellow actors were in shock regarding his premature passing, which they termed a “cruel reminder” of the toll that the struggle of the newcomers in the film industry takes on their mental health.

Mental Health Issues Get the Attention

The whole thing led to a new discussion about the mental health situation in the industry, especially for the new actors who are trying to find their way through the necessarily tough film and OTT scenario. Just like the various actors and filmmakers, the social media was full of expressions of sorrow and also a loud reminder of the importance of mental health.

An Eager Trip Done Too Soon

Fans of the series Jamtara have taken over the internet to pay their tributes, posting videos of his acting and stating how they feel about the loss of such a promising artist. The Jamtara cast has not yet released any formal comments, but some of its actors have already shared their grief for the sad news among themselves.
