From Kirk Alyn to Henry Cavill, the role of Superman changed hands several times. Now, David Corenswet is set to play ‘Superman’ in James Gunn’s reboot of the film. Each actor who played Superman added their interpretation or their director into the character.
So, when the teaser trailer for James Gunn’s Superman was revealed, fans couldn’t help but notice the brighter aspect of the character. Gunn’s Man of Steel seems to contrast with the previous portrayal of the superhero. Corenswet plays a hopeful Superman as per the teaser where he becomes a global savior.
The teaser uses a vibrant color palette to signify a positive shift in the superhero’s character from other reboots. Gunn’s Superman is the third reboot of this franchise where Superman’s transformation from Smallville local to a world savior is explored. The movie also shows his relationship with Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, and his dual identity as Clark Kent is explored.
However, a new addition to the film is Krypto, the super dog, an important key figure in the DC Universe. The trailer shows a heartwarming bond between two of these characters where Krypto assists Superman on his command. Who doesn’t like a fresh perspective on their favorite superhero films?
Gunn’s reboot has an impressive cast consisting of Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Sara Sampaio, Skyler Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, and of course, David Corenswet.
