Squid Game had massive success since its initial release in 2021, and since then the popularity of the series has grown. This popularity has also catapulted some of the cast members’ career graphs with new opportunities. The protagonist of Squid Game, Seong Gi-hun played by Lee Jung-Jae has garnered immense popularity from this series.
A rumor is making rounds on the internet that Lee Jung-Jae has been roped into a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This news comes after the success of Squid Game’s Season 2, where that actor is seen in a major role alongside other notable names from the South Korean industry.
While fans seem to be excited by this news, the actor’s agency has only denied this rumor. As per his agency, they haven’t received any offers from MCU. However, there cannot be smoke without fire. The actor has also denied the rumors, but as per an insider’s report, Lee Jung-Jae is in talks with the MCU for an undisclosed role.
The actor has a long-standing reputation in the South Korean industry. Several actors from the South Korean industry like Soo-Hyun (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Park Seo-Joon (The Marvels), and Ma Dong-Seok (Eternals) have joined the MCU in earlier installments. So, the chances of Lee Jung-Jae being approached for an MCU role by Kevin Feige seem feasible.
So, what do you think about this rumor? Do you think it’s true and they are hiding it because of contractual purposes? Or do you feel it is a baseless rumor created by fans of Lee Jung-Jae?
