Indian Space Research Organisation SpaDeX Takes Flight On PSLV-C60 Successfully

ISRO’s PSLV-C60 launch successfully deployed SpaDeX, placing India in the league of nations mastering autonomous docking technology.

ISRO’s PSLV-C60 launch successfully deploys SpaDeX

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has done it again. They have successfully ended the year with another achievement of launching PSLV-C60 carrying the SpaDeX or Space Docking Experiment onboard.

Scientists of ISRO have made 1.4 billion Indians proud with their achievements throughout the years. 2024 ends with another achievement of the successful deployment of SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target) set to execute several complex maneuvers for ISRO in the coming days.

This successful launch places India in the same league as nations like Russia, China, and the US in autonomous docking technology. So, a massive win for ISRO on their Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) set to master the docking technology.

The PSLV-C60 rocket launch success gives hope for India’s plans for future lunar missions and human spaceflights. However, with this Space Docking Experiment, the possibility of the proposed Bharatiya Antariksh Station, the Indian Space Station, becomes a reality.

ISRO Chairman S. Somanath shared his plans for ISRO in 2025 with this successful launch, “So, all of you have seen the majestic lift-off and the launch of the SpaDeX (Space Docking Experiment) rocket, and for us, this is the 99th launch of any vehicle from Satish Dhawan Space Centre so that is also a very important number. So, we are going for the 100th launch at the beginning of the next year.”

In January ISRO is getting ready for another milestone with the launch of the Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV). This is going to be the 100th launch of ISRO from Sriharikota Spaceport.

On social media, Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu also congratulated ISRO scientists on their achievements. He said, “Congratulations to @isro on the successful PSLV-C60 mission from Sriharikota, marking another space milestone! SpaDeX (Space Docking Experiment) is a pioneering mission to establish India’s capability in orbital docking, a crucial step for future human spaceflight and satellite servicing.”

A brighter future awaits India’s space missions in the coming years, and this successful launch signifies it.
