In a dramatic climax at the DIY Patil Stadium of Navi Mumbai to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semi-final, the Indian women cricketers upstaged the mighty Australians, secured the final berth with an incredible chase, and also set a new record in the process. The entire nation took pride in their performance, and Bollywood was no less in reacting to it.

Film stars didn’t stay silent. Kareena Kapoor Khan posted on Instagram: “And like I said, girls can do it all. With grit and determination… Well done, Team India… on the finals, my girls.” She tagged star batter Jemimah Rodrigues with thanks for her heroic century. 

Alia Bhatt added, “Our women in blue did it again. What a match!!” 

Varun Dhawan credited Jemimah Rodrigues as “My Hero” and wished good luck to the team for the finals.

Suniel Shetty wrote, “339 … Against Australia!!! That was a big total to chase. But the belief was bigger. Team India into the finals with fire and belief.” 

Filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli tweeted his praise: “You’ve made the nation proud.” 

Actor-director Rishab Shetty conveyed his message to the team on X: “What a moment for India! Our women’s team @BCCIWomen storms into the ICC #WomensWorldCup2025 Final

Cricketer-turned-actor also took to her social media and congratulated the ‘Women in Blue’ by saying: “What an iconic chase! Goosebumps watching those winning runs.’’

Manoj Bajpayee applauded the team’s “pure heart, grit and class” and also mentioned Jemimah Rodrigues by name.

Arjun is also in a celebratory mood and stated that “Not everyday you witness a chase like this. What a great moment for Women’s cricket. What emotion. What an epic. Salute our girls. You are champions already.”
