Experience luxury at the heart of India, as Amiri, a US-based luxury brand, opens its first flagship store at Chanakya Mall. A couple of years ago, Isha Ambani led Reliance Retail’s introduction of a series of global luxury brands in India. Burberry, Valentino, Armani, Balenciaga, Versace, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, and several other high-end brands came to the City of Dreams, Mumbai.
Now Delhi has its own space of luxury brands at DLF Emporio, with Dior, Cartier, Bottega Veneta, Canali, and Christian Louboutin having their stores in the mall. Long gone are the days when Indians had to travel overseas to try out luxury brands.
Now, most high-end luxury brands are welcoming the opportunity to expand to the Indian market. With more than 1.417 million citizens, India is a growing market for luxury products; hence, Amiri took the step to expand in India. Therefore, Amiri launches its flagship store in the luxury haven in Delhi.
At the launch event, Amiri, Shanya Kapoor, and cricketer Shubham Gill were present. Along with this duo was businessman Anand Ahuja, who also posed for the paps with the stars.
Amiri is a US-based brand by Mike Amiri, who created a luxury fashion space taking influence from Los Angeles music and skating culture. As ABDRL Head notes, luxury fashion is becoming increasingly popular among the new generation, especially through online exposure.
The business head of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABDRL), Amit Pande, observed high sales during the festive season, which makes it a perfect time to launch a new brand. Post-summer luxury brand sales seem to pick up for walk-in customers in India despite a global decline in in-store sales.
Looking at the evolving taste of GenZ and millennials, Amit Pande plans to unveil the latest zone for young Indian designers at DLF Emporio. A space dedicated to luxury ready-to-wear collections, workwear, and luxury goods that are making a comeback as the economy recovers and disposable income increases.
So, luxury brands are increasingly expanding in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi, where a large number of the population dwells and prefers luxury goods.
