The political analyst and YouTube influencer Dhruv Rathee has stirred the social media scene with his tweet about the upcoming video, which will “destroy a ₹300 crore propaganda film,” thus unleashing an intense audience reaction. While Rathee didn’t mention the film directly, his followers soon associated the comment with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar-the spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh, which has left the box office overwhelmed since its release on December 5.

In his post on X (Twitter) on Saturday, Rathee shared that one video was capable of dismantling a documentary that he categorically called a propaganda film, and he warned about a “meltdown” after it is made public. The tweet’s timing alongside Dhurandhar’s continued success led to the assumption that Rathee was aiming at the highly rewarding project.

Dhurandhar: Success Amid Controversy

Dhurandhar is one of the major films of 2025 that everybody is talking about, mainly due to its incredible box-office success and the arguments about its plot. The film was directed by Aditya Dhar and starred Ranveer Singh; the action thriller showcased several intense moments alternating with real-life-inspired occurrences like the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The film was a success from a commercial perspective, as it collected over ₹500 crore in India and still continued its run against strong competition.

This remarkable run of the film has by now become a debate point, with critics branding it “propaganda” and those supporters who are praising its artistic execution and storytelling.

Earlier Criticism from Rathee

This isn’t the first time; Rathee has already pointed the gun at Dhurandhar once before. He spoke out; he publicly criticized director Aditya Dhar when the trailer of the film was out in November, saying the violence and the graphic aspect of the film were excessive. He drew a parallel between certain parts of the trailer and the repulsion associated with actual global events, accusing the filmmaker of prioritizing shock value over thoughtful narrative.

The critics received and responded to his comments, which eventually led to a larger debate regarding violence in Bollywood and determining the borderline where the makers can show brutality for entertainment without making the audience uncomfortable.

Broader Debate Over Propaganda Label

The allegation that Dhurandhar operates as a propaganda tool has gone past Rathee’s remarks and has caused a larger debate throughout the film industry and among the audience. Some spectators are of the opinion that the film’s depiction of geopolitical conflicts and nationalistic topics is heavily biased towards ideology, while others see it as a proper filming of actual happenings.

Opinions and critics from the industry have been coming together in this argument; some of the well-known personalities have even defended the movie against the allegations of propaganda and have called the resistance to the movie a misunderstanding. Others have applauded its acting and technical side, but at the same time, they acknowledge differing perspectives on its messaging and unnecessary glamorization of materialistic things.

Dhurandhar’s Continued Dominance

Despite the controversy, the movie Dhurandhar is still very much appreciated by the audiences. It is still in theaters and has also received various awards for its actors, who are none other than Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan. The movie is very well recognized and liked by both fans and critics, and the sequel named Dhurandhar: Part 2 is planned to be released in March 2026, which means the audience will still be interested.

As Rathee’s promised video draws near, the anticipation is high about whether he will talk about Dhurandhar or any other movie, but fans are a hundred percent sure about their assumption.
