A video of the Arabic version of Deewani Mastani is going viral on Instagram, and people can’t stop talking about it. While we all remember the original song from Bajirao Mastani, this Arabic twist gives it a fresh and unique feel.
The artist behind this buzz is Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna, who performed the track at a Coldplay concert. Her mix of Indian and Arabic influences left the audience amazed, and her performance is winning hearts everywhere.
Elyanna’s journey started in her hometown of Nazareth, where she began singing at just seven years old. Her brother Feras noticed her talent early on and encouraged her to chase her dreams.
To support her career, her family moved to California, where things really took off.
She started by sharing song covers on Instagram, which caught the attention of Grammy-winning producer Nasri Atweh. Elyanna eventually signed with Universal Arabic Music, led by Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, who also manages The Weeknd.
In 2023, Elyanna made history as the first artist to perform a full set in Arabic at Coachella, showing the world how proud she is of her culture. What’s more, her family plays a big role in her success—her mum co-writes her songs, her brother plays piano, and her sister styles her. Together, they’re making waves globally.
