Bollywood actress and former Miss India Celina Jaitly has filed a case of domestic violence against her Austrian husband, Peter Haag, in a Mumbai court. The application has brought to light extensive emotional, physical, verbal, and financial abuse throughout their marriage. Celina’s petition states that she suffered “unending acts of cruelty,” disgrace, and psychological control that made her leave their house in Austria and escape to India for protection.
Who Is Celina Jaitly? A Former Miss India & Bollywood Actress
Celina Jaitly is a former beauty queen crowned as Femina Miss India Universe 2001 and a leading actress in Bollywood who gained huge popularity in the early 2000s. She started her acting journey with the film Janasheen and then appeared in big hits like No Entry, Tom, Dick, and Harry, Golmaal Returns, and Zinda. Apart from her acting career, Celina is also known for her humanitarian work on an international level, especially for LGBTQ+ rights advocacy and as a UN Equality Champion. Over the years, she has continuously lived a private life, partly in Austria and Dubai. Her wedding to Peter Haag partially illustrated a cross-cultural love, which, at the same time, made the unfolding legal matters incredibly shocking for her fans.
Their Relationship: From a Fairytale Romance to a Troubled Marriage
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag’s love affair was once such that people called it a modern fairytale. Peter Haag, an Austrian hotelier and businessman, is known for his association with luxurious hotels in Dubai and Southeast Asia. The wedding was in 2011, and every day, Celina publicly characterized their relationship as strong, supportive, and deeply understanding for the next couple of years. They had two sets of twins, and along with the immense joy, they also went through the heartbreaking loss of one of their babies, who died in 2017. Their marriage was frequently pointed out for its sophistication and discretion, as Celina was living in between Austria and Dubai to help Haag’s career in the hotel industry. However, the glamorous outside was covering the fact that the relationship was falling apart.
Allegations: Emotional, Physical & Financial Abuse
Celina’s petition presents a case of a series of mistreatments and accusations that Haag had a strong grip on her finances and imposed a ban on her work and constantly humiliated her with racist and degrading comments. He supposedly referred to her as his “maidservant,” criticized her motherhood, and made her feel inferior emotionally, according to reports. Celina also alleges that she was manipulated into giving her Mumbai property to him while being in a vulnerable state, which led to a significant financial loss.
The actress has requested ₹50 crore in compensation for financial manipulation, emotional pain, mental distress, and lost wages. Additionally, she is requesting maintenance of ₹10 lakh each month. The case emphasizes her battle to become financially independent again following years of purported coercion and control.
Celina’s Public Response: Fighting for Dignity and Children
Celina expressed publicly her willingness to fight this battle “without her parents, without her brother, and without her children,” who at the moment are under Haag’s custody in Austria. She stood up for her right and asked for privacy, bearing in mind the court cases, and thanked her legal team for their backing. Celina also requested privacy, asking that all questions be addressed to her lawyers since the case is in court.
Legal Proceedings and Next Hearing
Reports say that the case was submitted to Judicial Magistrate First Class S. C. Tadye in Mumbai. The court has notified Peter Haag, and the next court date is set for December 12, 2025. Celina is also applying for legal orders to obtain access to her kids again, asserting that she has been wrongfully separated from them.

A Challenging Personal Phase

Vikrant Jaitly, whom she claims was wrongly imprisoned in the UAE. With several personal crises happening at the same time, Celina has revealed that she feels lonely but is still firm in her resolve to obtain justice.
