Serum Institute of India’s CEO, Adar Poonawalla, turns to entertainment acquisition with a 50% stake in Dharma Production. For a whopping 1000 crores, Karan Johar gives away half of Dharma Production as well as Dharmatic Entertainment to Poonawalla’s Serene Production.

While Adar Poonawalla’s Serum Institute has a legacy that mirrors Karan, however, in another industry. Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla started the Serum Institute of India (SII), which later Adar took hold of and brought it to new heights.
Under his leadership, SII became the world’s largest manufacturer of vaccines, with 1.5 billion vaccine sales. So, two second-generation business owners winning in their rights now join hands to bring something new to the table.
