Bollywood gets more regressive day by day, especially with its casting and movies. In a recent report, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actress Triptii Dimri has been forced out of Aashiqui 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, because of her connection with the Animal movie.
According to the report, her exit from the project is due to her sensual image in movies like Animal and Bad Newz. Initially, when fans heard that Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur were not returning for the sequel of Aashiqui 2,. However, when the cast was relieved for Anurag Basu’s directorial film, Kartik Aaryan and Triptiii Dimri, fans were excited to see the ‘jodi’ onscreen.
However, this latest news has irked fans, with a fan highlighting the hypocrisy of Bollywood: “Lol, iss hisab se Ranbir ko toh Ramayan ke aas paas bhi nahi hona chahiye lol (With this logic, Ranbir Kapoor shouldn’t be playing ‘Ram’ in Ramayana).” Another user questions, “Why’s Ranbir portraying a god then?”
A logical theory if you might ask, because the actress always had to bear the shorter end of the stick. Nepotism aside, the generations of actress replacements in Bollywood are a natural thing while the heroes stay the same. So, when the news of Triptii Dimri came to light about her being too sensual and bold to play an innocent character in Aashiqui 3, things didn’t seem fair.
According to the source, “The fundamental requirement to be the heroine of Aashiqui 3 is innocence reflecting through and as observed by the team behind the film, Triptii Dimri, with her recent films, has become too exposed to be cast in this romantic film, which demands purity in demeanor from the female lead. Aashiqui is a legendary, soulful love story, and the makers do not see Tripti fitting the parameters.”
While the news is being reported as speculative, however, the logic of the statement above doesn’t make sense. On one hand, male actors like Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor get to work in films like Kabir Singh and Animal and still fit the roles of Cop (Deva) and God (Ramayan).
However, when it comes to female roles, actresses’ previous movies and roles impact their future roles in Bollywood. Something doesn’t match up to this logic, don’t you think? Share your thoughts on this topic with us.
