Versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana paused his US concert to school a fan on his actions. The concert was ongoing when a fan threw dollars on the stage as a token of appreciation for his performance. However, the ‘Bala’ actor known for his grace and humility paused his performance to stop his fans from throwing any more money on stage.
As shown in the video clip that’s going viral on social media, Ayushmann Khurrana is heard saying, “Bro, don’t make such gestures. Don’t do this, please. You can donate this to charity or do something good with it, but please don’t do this. Love you for this love, but please donate it to charity without telling anyone.”
However, fans of the actor feel the act of the particular fan is distasteful. A fan posted the video online, expressing his views on the incident: “It’s disheartening to see such a disrespectful act at a live concert. During Ayushmann Khurrana’s recent NYC performance, a fan threw a bunch of dollars on stage while he was singing. Instead of enjoying the music, this individual chose to flaunt their wealth in a tasteless manner.”
He further adds, “Ayushmann, known for his humility and grace, paused the show and politely requested the audience to consider donating to charity instead of such frivolous gestures. His response was not only classy but also highlighted the importance of using wealth for good. Let’s hope this incident serves as a reminder to everyone attending live events to respect the artists and the experience for all.”
However, in USA culture, throwing clothes, plushies, money, and gifts is seen as an act of love and appreciation for the performer, which often happens at concerts. So, on the part of the fan, it was an act of love, not disrespect.
The age-old debate of West vs. East cultural differences arises in this context; however, donating to charity is an overall better option. What are your thoughts about this incident in New York?
