Social media can make you famous, but it can also flip your world in seconds. Recently, content creator Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, got caught in a whirlwind of drama and sadly, so did her close friend Rida Tharana.
It all started with a heartfelt video from Apoorva where she opened up about betrayal and feeling hurt by a friend. She mentioned something about “black magic” being used on her but never named anyone. The internet, of course, went into overdrive, and fingers were pointed straight at Rida.
Soon, hate started pouring in. Trolls didn’t hold back. And that’s when Apoorva had to step in again not to add fuel to the fire, but to put it out. She posted, asking everyone to stop the assumptions. “This is the last thing I wanted,” she wrote. Her video was personal, not meant to turn into a witch hunt (literally).
Rida, heartbroken and overwhelmed, broke her silence too. She’s been juggling a lot behind the scenes an unwell mother, family responsibilities, and now online hate. “People hate women who simply exist,” she wrote. Oof. That hits hard.
What started as an emotional outpour turned into unnecessary chaos. And it shows us one thing: assumptions can destroy real relationships.
So here’s a thought before we jump on trends or cancel buttons, let’s pause. Let’s be kind. Real people are behind those screens, facing real consequences from virtual words.
Not everything online needs a villain. Sometimes, it’s just two people going through life’s mess.
