Ananya Panday and farah khan in two much talk show

The most celebrated director, Farah Khan, revisited her 2010 heist comedy Tees Maar Khan recently on the Two Much talk show with Ananya Panday and Twinkle Khanna. The director reflected back at the film that was once commented on for its short cast comprising Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif but now has the credit of attracting new Gen Z viewers.

“It made 65 crores 15 years ago. It’s a Gen Z cult film now,” shared Farah. She narrated that although Tees Maar Khan did not make it to the top of the list of box office hits, the film’s humor, setting, and the song Sheila Ki Jawani have turned into nostalgic gold for the younger audience over the years and are still a must-have in every Bollywood fan’s playlist.

Ananya Panday’s Playful Pitch

During the talk, Ananya Panday, with great enthusiasm, asked if she could join the sequel. Farah answered instantly with a chuckle, “Yes, you can be Katrina’s little sister!” which led to the idea that Ananya could be in Tees Maar Khan 2.

While no official confirmation has been done yet, speculation quickly spread all over the internet, and people were excited about the rumored casting. The fans were thrilled with the thought of Ananya acting in a stylish, comedic universe like the one Farah had created.

Twinkle Khanna Fuels the Buzz

To the already high level of enthusiasm, Twinkle Khanna did say something else: “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me that there are talks about Tees Maar Khan Part 2.” This made her statement to be curious again as to if Farah Khan is at the moment already in discussions for the sequel or is just lightly teasing the audience.

What We Know So Far

According to reports, Farah Khan stated that Tees Maar Khan’s eccentricity and unrestrained humor have made it a “Gen Z cult classic” and that, in her opinion, the movie has gained such a status among the new generation. Whenever the fans desire to know from her the name of the movie that best deserves a sequel, she answers by saying Tees Maar Khan.

However, there has been no confirmation from the director or the production team regarding the cast, shooting schedule, or release details. It is still unclear if Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar will reprise their roles or just make cameo appearances.

From Flop to Cult Favorite

When it was released in 2010, Tees Maar Khan was greeted with diverse critiques, and it was not a huge hit at the box office, gathering about ₹60 to 65 crores. In spite of the initial reaction, the movie subsequently gained popularity due to its loud colors, ridiculous humor, and memorable music, which turned it into a meme-ready cult favorite.

Farah Khan even made a comment during the interview that the movie was “not a flop” but was “unfairly dissected” even though it made money. It is a classic case of Bollywood’s shifting views on nostalgia and reappraisal today.

If the sequel happens It might not be a direct follow-up, on the other hand, or might just be a completely new start; still, the movie would be a passing of the torch between generations, uniting Farah’s classic masala of the old school with the contemporary Bollywood sensitivity of the new age.
